Story Introduction

One day, while playing with a ball at home, Little Rabbit accidentally hit it too hard. The ball bounced onto the windowsill and shattered a glass cup. The sharp crack of breaking glass startled Little Rabbit, who felt a rush of panic and didn't know what to do.

Several options flashed through his mind: First, quickly toss the shards into the trash and pretend nothing happened; second, tell Mom the cup was blown over by the wind; third, honestly admit to Mom that he accidentally broke it. After hesitating for a moment, the little rabbit finally decided to tell the truth.

He confessed the whole story to his mother. Instead of getting angry, she praised his honesty and reminded him that hiding the truth could have led to family members accidentally getting hurt by the shards—which would have been far more dangerous. So, mother and bunny grabbed a broom and dustpan together and carefully swept up the glass fragments from the floor.

After cleaning up, his mother rewarded him with ice cream to encourage his courage in owning up to his mistake. Through this experience, the little rabbit learned an important lesson: when you make a mistake, face it honestly instead of lying out of fear of blame. Lying only makes your heart feel more unsettled, like being carried skyward by a balloon; only by telling the truth can your heart settle back down to earth.

The story concludes by telling children to be brave like the little rabbit, admit their mistakes, and be honest, good kids.
